Blogtown Press is officially looking for bloggers to hire. You can write for any number of our town blogs, whatever you feel you’re most apt to write about. Currently we have 11 established blogs that need writers, ranging from sports related blogs, to finance, to alternative energy. All of our blogs would love a writer. Or feel free to suggest a blog subject and we may just create the blog and add it to our network!

We’re looking for a few good people to create original content, report on news, and interact with our readers as best as possible in exchange for us paying you money. No coding, no advertising, no promoting necessary, we do all the behind the scenes work for you. You just have to write.

We would expect one post per weekday, but would always enjoy more posts. We’re going to start out by paying a set amount until our blogs generate more and more income in which case you will receive a percentage of your specific blogs income of between 60-80% with a guaranteed base amount. (Inquire for specifics)

If you’re interested please send you information and possibly one or two reference writing samples to blogtownpress{at}gmail.com. Replace {at} with @ :)

You could write for the company with Aloha that prides itself on giving back to it’s readers.

Digg First Coconut Winner! at Digg.com digg this

Folks we have our first winner in our link to a coconut contest. Now don’t fear we’ll be giving away at least 2 other coconuts, possibly 4 more coconuts since there has been such great enthusiasm towards the contest and it’s idea but I thought I would announce the first winner.

The first winning entry was actually one of the first! It was a great write-up by Brian over at caydel.com. He wrote about using contests with prizes as a Linkbaiting mechanism and to draw attention to a site or product. You can read his whole entry here.

Congratulations Brian!

The winning post he picked was from our alternative energy blog Fueling the World and the post is titled An Inconvenient Truth, a review by one of our bloggers Tim Roth about Al Gore’s book. It’s a good post and the entry was great!

We were a little amazed when one of the first entries came back a winner, and thought the contest would be over in no-time at all but there have been many more entries since and there are still 2 coconuts out there.

Keep the entries coming, you could be the next person with a coconut on the way.

Digg Launch Week has been a Success at Digg.com digg this

So far the launching of Blogtown Press with our Link to a Coconut Contest has been a success. There is a mini-buzz being started around various corners of the blogosphere for the craziness and uniqueness of our contest. I want to say thanks to all those who’ve entered so far and want to say keep on entering.

Some questions that have come up that I’d like to address straight off are:
1. The Coconuts are straight from Hawaii and picked up off the beach!
2. We can ship anywhere.
3. You’ll get your coconut as is, without a box, stamps and label “write” on the shell.
4. There are three posts chosen so far and three coconuts, I may choose more posts, randomly of course, and I may find more coconuts, so stay tuned! I’m thinking of possibly chosing one post per blog and have 3-5 coconuts, so stay tuned for any updates.
5. We are accepting “applications” to become a blogger for Blogtown Press, so feel free to continue to inquire.

I hope this helps people out and I hope you all keep entering and spreading the good cheer.

Aloha
